Politics
I'm so tired of the political ads!! It's so hard to tell what's true and what's fabricated. I was watching one ad in particular that made me so mad!
Here in Oregon, we have a measure on the ballot that would prevent insurance companies from using a persons credit report to figure rates. To be honest, I still don't understand how a credit rating tells them what type of driver I'll be. Please don't even start about statistics! Anyone who's taken a statistics class knows that they are subjective and very malliable.
Anyway, this woman is saying that she thought that she should vote for the measure until she learned that people with bad credit really do have more accidents. O.K....... Um....... I have bad credit due to an on-the-job injury. Does that mean I have a bad driving record?
Actually, my insurance company has given me a no accident policy because of my GOOD driving record. So, know I want to know more about these statistics and how they will handle instances like mine. Of course no one is interested in one poor schmuck who may fall through the cracks, but of course I do.
Unfortunatly, a lot of our laws are based on unfounded information that unaware voters blindly go for. What happened to people voting responsibley??? What happened to truth in advertisements?? I can tell you that it really sours one responsible voters feelings about politics.
